George Clooney Missed Oscar Night to Meet with President Obama

Actor George Clooney spoke yesterday of his high-powered meeting at the White House, which he used to discuss the Darfur region of Sudan. Clooney then went on Larry King last night and talked about his meeting with President Obama and VP Joe Biden.
Clooney, who spoke to King from the White House lawn, said: "I don't think people should be going there and coming back and saying how it affected them. I think somehow we should all know that these people are hanging on by the skin of their teeth."
He elaborated that he called on the President to implement a full-time envoy to the region, one who answered directly to the White House, and also asked that pressure be put on China to stop business dealings with the Sudanese government.
